Pre-Apprenticeship Programmes

Our Pre-Apprenticeship programmes are training and education programmes designed to equip young people with the skills and knowledge that will help them become independent, self-motivated and ready for employment and Apprenticeships. These programmes offer learners the opportunity to be supported individually and to try an occupational area, to see if it is the right vocation for them.

Our programmes are learner-focused and recognise that individuals are unique, learn at different paces and require different levels of support. They provide a framework that is flexible, allow different starting points and above all choice. It's all about breaking down the barriers that prevent so many people from continuing their learning journey.

These programmes are a new way to provide personalised learning programmes for young people. They help you develop your potential and prepares you to progress towards Apprenticeships and other routes.

These programmes run for 25 week periods. Learners attend the training centre for the underpinning knowledge and attend a work placement for hands-on experience in their chosen career sector.

The programmes provide employability skills, and cover the skills and knowledge required to work in their chosen sector. All programmes include the following qualifications:

  • Level 1 Extended Award in Employability Skills
  • Functional Skills in Maths
  • Functional Skills in English
