Apprentice of the Year

Alder Training have launched our very first Apprentice of the Year competition. This follows on from the very successful learner of the month campaign, which has been running for 12 months and is based on nominations from our own members of staff.

This award will be different. For the Apprentice of the Year award, we are asking employers to nominate their Apprentices. Each employer will have their own reason for nominating, but it is anticipated that nominations will fall into one of four categories:

  • Outstanding progress
  • Practical & theoretical ability
  • Positive approach to work
  • Special personal qualities

Steve Ely, Operations and Quality Improvement Manager, is very clear on why we’ve launched this award, “the people we train, the Apprentices, are much more than numbers or part of a Government success rate figure. These learners provide real contributions to businesses in the region, have real high level skills, have progressed so far in their careers and have come through some incredible personal journeys, it is important to recognise this and celebrate these individuals”.
